Performer - Choreographer - Teacher
Katherine Sarris has been privileged to perform & instruct on Multiple Continents of the world and to have her choreography showcased in 8 Countries. Ms. Sarris has also moved audiences across the USA from TX to MO, FL to NH with her dramatic and original style, performing in schools, churches, shopping parks, art fairs, and on Public Television.
In 2022 Ms. Sarris joined The Artbeat Physical Theatre (CH) in their Easter Passion Tour, and AVIV Dance Company (NL) for their outreach in Brussels (BE).
She was a featured choreographer for the "Awakening Festival" 2021 with Ballet Hartford (USA),
Infusion Physical Theatre (Cambridge, UK) cast her in the lead role of their production, “Just Sex: A Counter-Trafficking Show.”
From 2014 – 2017 Ms. Sarris was privileged to be the Artistic Director for le groupe de danse Sky Touch in France. She has been a performer & assistant stage manager with Project Dance in Times Square NYC, Washington D.C., Kansas City, London, & Paris, and is a member of their project based dance company, Atmosphere in NYC.
As a classically trained Pianist, she has privately instructed students for more than 2 decades and has worked as an Accompanist for choir, soloist & band.
Ms. Sarris also holds a B.A. in History & English Literature.
After training with Störling Dance Theatre (KC, USA), Ms. Sarris was a company member with Dramatic Truth Ballet Theater (MO, USA), performing in adaptations of “The Nutcracker” & “Sleeping Beauty.” She also sang & danced through Tiffany Powell’s musical theater chorus line in “Variety Show KC 2013.”
Ms. Sarris studied interpretive dance & ballet under Karen Festog (formerly Royal Ballet). She studied ballet with Megan Philipp (Joffrey Academy), modern dance under Maria Colaco, Contemporary with Jana Hicks and Max Stone, hip hop from George Jones (“The Circus Tour: Starring Britney Spears”), jazz with Geoffrey Doig-Marx (founder of The Elan Awards) and Richard Pierlon, and theater dance under Jeff Shade (mentored by Bob Fosse).
Katherine Sarris has 20 years of experience in teaching dance. She founded the Master's School of Sacred Choreography in 2001 - an interpretive dance studio which she directed for 8 years in Connecticut. Ms. Sarris has also conducted numerous dance workshops & classes both nationally & internationally. In addition to completing 5 consecutive sessions of the Teacher Training Workshop with Ballet Magnificat! in Jackson, MS, she is an American Ballet Theatre® Certified Teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Primary - Level 5.
Ms. Sarris currently resides in New England where she works as a freelance performer, teacher & choreographer.
